The theme for Earth Day 2024 is Planet vs. Plastics, so today we celebrate our fellow Kiwi innovators thinking up solutions to the global plastics problem.

Check out Humble Bee Bio, Plentyful, and WoolAid, which harness the power of bees, bacteria and sheep (it is New Zealand after all) to produce materials that can be engineered to mimic the properties of plastics, all while being biodegradable and safe for the Earth and Earthlings.
