The Capacity building and piloting of climate and environment risk disclosures in Jiangsu Province project kicked off on 15 June 2021. The GIZ-funded project’s international team is led by ClimSystem’s Senior Climate Scientist, Dr Yinpeng Li. The international team is supported by ClimSystems staff and subject experts from BSI in the United States and SLR Consulting Group in the United Kingdom. The national team based in China is led by Professor Qian Ye of Beijing Normal University and the Executive Director of the Integrated Risk Governance Project. Other national team members come from the China Meteorological Administration, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other universities in China.

The project aims to support China in developing its climate and environmental disclosure law. The movement towards Chinese companies disclosing climate and ESG risks is of considerable significance.

The project’s outcome will include a climate and environmental disclosure guidance document, a training curriculum, and policy recommendations to support the practice of climate and ESG risk disclosure in Jiangsu province, envisioning their border application in coming years across China.
